Founded in 2019, the Halifax Gay Men’s Chorus (HGMC) is a fellowship of lower voiced singers from the LGBTQ+ community. It is dedicated to presenting high quality musical entertainment, promoting community spirit, and presenting a positive image of the gay community. Adding to the region’s vibrant performing arts landscape, HGMC regularly performs to sold-out audiences and has a membership of 60 singers. In May 2023, HGMC co-hosted the national Unison festival, welcoming LGBTQ+ singers from all over Canada to Halifax.
Funds raised through Queerbaret will help us head west to Vancouver for the 2026 Unison festival!
